I left more than full and happy, as I always do here. Like I said earlier, there's a reason this place is one of our must visit restaurants.
I love BBQ food, so I enjoyed eating here...however I've had a lot better BBQ. Like Atlantic's beer quality, I would say Mainely Meat was a decent place. The food was good but it didn't stand out to other BBQ I've had. Meat was a bit on the dry side except for the pulled pork. It's great that they have a partnership with Atlantic for some decent beer selection to go with it. Good place to go in the summer and to sit outside.
Excellent BBQ sandwich, just the way I like it! Toasted Texas toast without the BBQ mixed in with the meat. I like to put my own sauce on. The hot sauce mix was just right! Glad we stopped. The place was a little off road but highly recommended by Bar Harbor Manor where we are staying. Loved the place too!
Coming here is a family tradition on every trip to Bar Harbor, and for good reason. Tucked in the back at Atlantic Brewing Company is this location of Mainely Meat. Service is friendly, helpful and more than accommodating, there's a good amount of space with large tables, and most importantly the food and drink is tasty.
I started off with a fresh pint of beer. Being that this place is located at Atlantic Brewing Company, I mean fresh when I say it. I don't exactly remember what I got on my latest visit, but chances are good that it was a Blueberry Ale.
The selection from Atlantic brewing was great. The half rack of ribs was portion just right. The meat fell off the ribs when you put a fork to it. Tasted great. Very flavorful. Beer served nice and cold. Friendly staff assisting with our needs. The baked beans and Italian sausage was a little too spicy. Overall the experience was a good one.
As for food, I went with The Sampler - a heaping plate of pulled pork, chicken, ribs, sausage, and all of the sides. For the price, this is A LOT of food, and very good food at that. Everything was cooked right and flavorful.
We stopped here on our way back to our RV after a day of hiking in Acadia National Park. Beers were cold, tasty and reasonably priced. We also had the wings and a half slab of ribs. We've eaten a lot of wings and a lot of ribs and these were both excellent. The wings were grilled, which we prefer over fried, and the ribs were tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is a typical restaurant bar casual setting. We definitely recommend Mainely Meet BBQ ay Atlantic Brewery.
