All in all, we would definitely recommend this campground and plan to go back ourselves in a few years.

Better for RVs less for us in tents.

They had very poor communication skills, we thought we reserved a certain site but ended up out in a field on a bank. Totally not what we reserved, seemed dangerous for our motor home so we left after talking to office and nothing else available. Owner's were suppose to call but did not! I do not recommend this place, people were rude and only see things one way. There are other better options, use them.

Our 40' rig barely fit into our site #A6. The rear was at the trees and the mirrors were right on the edge of the road. We ended up with some small little purple black tree berries all over the back of the bus and tracked all over everywhere. These things get sticky when wet and are annoying. Also these sites are advertised as 50 amp with daily honeywagon service. In fact you still have to pay $6 per tank, not per pump out, for the service. This is half the regular price but still a bit cheesy in my opinion. The toilets are clean and the showers looked clean but are coin operated. This seems unnecessary in the off-season when there are no queues for the shower stalls. The campground is on the bus route for the island explorer free shuttle. This is a great service and I like seeing public transportation options available. The downside is that they loop in past these A block sites every 10-15 minutes. I'm sure the schedule varies through the year but it was about 8am to 8pm during our stay. It's just another minor annoyance. If you are lucky enough to get a full hookup site then they will be back off this main loop. I found the staff nice but a bit puzzled that they still just have a big schedule book for all reservations instead of a computer. This is a large campground, and there must be a better way than a big schedule book. Good Verizon service here, but unusable AT&T or T-Mobile. Campground WiFi surprisingly good except when everyone is using it in the evenings. Site easily leveled with air or hydraulics. Dump station close to the A sites if you want to tote your own instead of paying.

Clean and well maintained.

Stayed here 5 nights starting June 1, 2017 with wife and 2 dogs. We LOVED this campground. We stayed in site B20 and it was perfect for us... almost completely surrounded by trees and no outside traffic noise (except some distant boats). The bathrooms were kept clean and although the shower rooms were small, they were also kept clean. All staff we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. Its convenient location to Bar Harbor and Acadia make driving to hiking trails and shopping a breeze. There's a lovely beach within walking (or driving because it's kind of a steep hill) distance and there's a nearby lobster pound that will deliver a lobster dinner right to you (I think it was called Eden Rose or Rose Eden). Our site (and every site we saw) was nicely leveled and maintained. You can tell the owner's make the effort to keep their campground looking good.

Haven't been to other private campgrounds in the area, but this one is fine. Pool is a nice plus, but water is pretty chilly.

No dish washing sinks.

Made a same day reservation on a Tuesday for 3 nights. Decided on Wednesday night we wanted to leave Thursday morning instead of Friday morning. The older lady working in the office was rude and argumentative, insisting that the email I received clearly indicated no refunds for early departure. I told her I didn't receive an email because I talked to someone on the phone. She argued and argued with me about the email. When she finally pulled my reservation card, there was no email address. Instead of apologizing and working with me, she got more belligerent and said I should've known there would be no refund. Told me no one ever issues refunds. I told her that wasn't true because I've gotten refunds before when leaving early at campgrounds and hotels. She told me most people stay for the length they book a site for. The owner of the place was really sweet on the phone and when we checked in. But she should've made it clear somewhere there are no refunds. And if I were the owner there's no way I would want someone as rude and unprofessional as the lady in the office right now working for me.

The only thing I had a tiny issue with was the grassy spot right on the other side of our fire pit. I'm not sure if it was meant to be an extra parking spot for tent site #43, but that's what they used it for... a guest that stayed with them one night parked his truck there (already had another vehicle parked on their campsite as well). Because there are no trees on that side of our site and the grassy spot was so close, it felt like he was parking on our site and the constant opening and closing of the truck's door at all hours was a bit annoying being as it was so close and all. It was only there one night so I decided not to mention to staff - plus they have staff driving around the campground all the time so I figured if they saw it and didn't make him move the truck, then maybe it was meant to be a parking spot. It was just kinda weird and creepy.
