The staff was nice, and the small room and bathroom were clean. No breakfast, but they do have coffee. Also, there is no microwave or fridge in the room, but they do have a microwave in the lobby. It can be used when the front desk is open.
This place is a POS. It belongs in a,Chevy Chase Lampoon movie. TINY room. Even TINIER bathroom. No night stand. No hairdryer, coffee maker or even a box of tissues. Water faucet in sink had no turn off valve. No headboard for bed. Lighting was from the dark ages. Roof looked ready to collapse. Pillows were lumpy and flat. Very old small screen TV. Room was clean. Linens were fresh. Staff was helpful. But the rooms are horrible. Not worth .01 cents. Stay far away from this "hotel".
Super simple and inexpensive motel, and that's all we were looking for at the last minute. We popped in town for the Fourth of July, and we wanted to stay close to Bar Harbor without spending a fortune.
Only downside to our stay was that the bed was uncomfortable. I think everyone who has ever stayed in the room has sat on the same side of the bed near the bathroom. I think the springs were broken on that side. It felt like I was sleeping on a hill and trying not to roll down it all night.
OK space; reasonably priced. We booked it over the summer, which is high season and most of everything else has no vacancies. Pretty close to Acadia and lots of good restaurants; prob a bit too far from downtown Bar Harbor.
They are up front on their website: The price is great because they haven't upgraded the place in a long time. If you just need a place to shower and sleep in between all the fun Acadia National Park offers and don't want to pay a lot, then this is your place. Yes it's old and room may be on a slant but it's very clean and the people are friendly. Bonus is that you park at your room so can keep an eye on your car/bikes/kayaks/motorcycles.
Don't rule out this motel if you are traveling on a budget. It will be just fine!
If you're looking for an opulent hotel with lots of amenities keep driving but if you want clean sheets and basics for a reasonable price this is it. Not much has changed with this place since the 70s but at $65 a night for 2 who cares? Bring your own coffee hair drier and cooler because you won't find them here.
Did I mention it was very reasonably priced?
